Using an Old Refurbished Laptop To Install Linux

Over the years you may have heard of Linux or even have had a personal interest in installing Linux on your own laptop computer. While this can be something new, fun and exciting; it too can also be somewhat of a challenge.

Linux is a lot different than a Windows operated laptop. While both operating system perform the same tasks, each system has to be operated by the user somewhat differently. More people who are former Windows based users will experience more problems compared to complete non computer users.

The reason for this is simple. Former Windows based users grow accustom to doing computer tasks a certain way and when they then operate a Linux based computer system, everything is different. With a complete non computer user — again someone who has never used a computer before — things are much easier because they don’t know any differently.

If you are interested in installing Linux and trying it for the first time, I would recommend that you use and install Linux on an older refurbished laptop that you might have purchased years ago. The reason for this is so that you don’t make a mistake and end up destroying your newer and more primary system.

If it turns out that you enjoy using Linux a lot, you can then install Linux on your primary computer system. Also, by that time you’ll have more experience with installing and operating a Linux operating system.
